Championing dreams, fostering community and nurturing the leadership journey of young women of colour to collectively heal and drive positive social change.

At GirlDreamer, we're more than just a non-profit. We're a collective of passionate people championing a brighter, more equitable future for 18-35 year old women of colour in the UK.

We’re on a quest to dismantle barriers and redraw the lines of opportunity for women of colour. We understand first-hand the unique challenges faced by our community, and we’re here to break down those barriers.

We firmly believe women of colour are uniquely placed to drive social change. Sitting at the intersection of society, we have perspectives, lived experiences and an in-depth understanding of what needs to change and how it needs to change for the betterment of all.

However, with a lack of access to opportunities, higher rates of discrimination, greater economic and social barriers, larger pay gaps, residing in underserved areas and having minimal representation in positions of leadership and influence – starting a journey of change can feel somewhat impossible.

That’s where we come in.

Taking a holistic approach, we create greater access to leadership and wellbeing opportunities for young women of colour, so they can lead successfully and live healthily.

REIMAGINING

We offer quarterly grants of up to £2,500 to kickstart or grow your organisation and amplify the important work you’re doing.

CAPACITY BUILDING

GROWTH. SUSTAINABILITY. IMPACT.

We recognise that funding alone isn’t enough to create sustainable organisations when there is a lack of access to resources, tools and knowledge for minoritised groups.

Therefore, through our capacity-building programmes, we off not only tools and resources, but intentionally-designed training, and support women of colour need to step confidently into leadership roles and drive social change.

This approach ensures that alongside financial support, we equip organisations with the skills, knowledge, and resilience needed to thrive in the long run. By offering a holistic package of resources, we are not only fostering current leaders but also nurturing the sustainability and enduring success of the organisations they lead.

PSYCOLOGICALLY SAFE SPACES

TRUST. HEALING. CONNECTION.

Creating psychologically safe spaces for young women of colour is paramount. It’s in these spaces that they can freely express themselves, share their experiences, and support one another without fear of judgement or bias.

GirlDreamer’s retreats, supper clubs, and other activities play a crucial role in fostering these safe environments. By offering such inclusive and supportive gatherings, we empower young women of colour to build connections, amplify their voices, and gain the confidence to take on leadership roles. In these spaces, they not only find understanding and camaraderie but also the strength to thrive in a world where their perspectives and contributions are valued and celebrated.

WHAT WE DO FOR

COMPANIES

We specialise in access to opportunity.
