Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit (GMIAU)

Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit is a voluntary organisation supporting people subject to immigration control for over 25 years. They offer free legal advice, representation and support services to people seeking asylum, refugees, children and vulnerable adults. They have a Women at Risk section which helps women migrants and refugees who are disproportionately affected and at more risk of domestic violence, trafficking, forced labour, and other forms of gender based violence.

Nidas

NIDAS are a small, friendly and independent local charity working across Mansfield and Ashfield in Nottinghamshire. We offer a family based approach for people who are living with or have experienced any form of domestic violence or abuse. 01623 683 250

Impact Pathways

Impact Pathways is a ‘map’ of provision designed to help people who live and work in the West Midlands access support they might need. It allows the public and professionals to search in their area for the resource, knowledge and expertise of statutory agencies.

Bharosa

Bharosa is a domestic abuse service for ethnic minority women (particularly those from a South Asian background) living in Birmingham. We provide a free service which is confidential and unbiased for women and young girls over the age of 16.

Sisters For Change

Sisters For Change is an international non-governmental organisation that works to combat violence against women and girls through legal empowerment programmes, legislative reform, technical assistance initiatives and legal advocacy. 

First Light

First Light is a charity supporting people in Cornwall, Devon and Wiltshire who have experienced domestic violence and domestic abuse, from support through the court system to counselling and creating safe plans for individuals to rebuild their lives.

The Green House

The Green House in Bristol has been providing therapy for people affected by sexual abuse for over 30 years. They provide therapy for men, women and children.

The Bridge

The Bridge is a Sexual Assault Referral Centre who offer medical care, emotional and psychological support, and practical help to anyone who has been raped or sexually assaulted across Bristol and Weston.

Kinergy

Kinergy is a specialist counselling agency offering support for survivors of sexual abuse and sexual violence in Bristol. Kinergy is inclusive to all genders, 16 years and above. The website features help guides, leaflets, apps and information on other support available.

Somerset and Avon Rape & Sexual Abuse Support

SARSAS provide support to people who have experienced rape or any kind of sexual assault or abuse at any time in their lives through counselling, live chat and other specialist support. They are open to all; girls, boys, women, men, trans and non-binary individuals.

Next Link Bristol

They provide a range of domestic abuse support services to women and children, including safe houses, children’s services, dedicated Black and Ethnic Minority Services, resettlement and outreach services, and a crisis response service. Bristol Outreach for the Homeless (BOSH)

BOSH provides an outreach service providing anything they reasonably can to make lives more comfortable. They also provide advocacy, advice, one to one support and help settling in to a new home and maintaining a tenancy.

Bristol Homeless Connect

Bristol Homeless Connect is a website which has information about how people can get help, find out how to help, or find out more information about rough sleeping in Bristol. They offer support on topics including healthcare, laundry, gambling support, work and training, drug/alcohol support, food and much more.

Bristol Against Violence and Abuse

Bristol Against Violence and Abuse (BAVA) is a collection of people and organisations in Bristol working to end all types of violence and abuse. Their resources are available in a range of languages including Arabic, Somali, BSL, Chinese and more.

St Pauls Advice Centre

St Pauls Advice Centre offers specialist advice, information and casework services on welfare benefits, debt and money, employment, housing, immigration, discrimination, domestic violence and other community care issues. They offer independent, impartial, confidential, non-judgemental and free advice.

Nilaari

Nilaari are a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic-led charity with over 20 years experience delivering social care support, talking therapies and training to adults and young people. Nilaari’s services are available to ALL communities across Bristol. 

Bristol Mind

Bristol branch of the nationwide mental health organisation. Run emotional support helplines, virtual drop-ins, offer advocacy services and resources on how to care for your mental health during the pandemic.

Edinburugh rape crisis centre

Edinburgh rape crisis centre offers free and confidential emotional and practical support, information and advocacy to women, all members of the trans community, non-binary people and young people aged 12-18 in Edinburgh, East and Midlothian, who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. Unity in the Community (Glasgow)

Unity in the Community works to provide practical support and solidarity for people in need in our communities, especially asylum seekers. As a organisation they offer many different services from English lessons, access to food banks, unity allotment community, bike workshops, LGBT friendly. Belfast Health and Trust Social Care Trust

Belfast Health and Social Care Trust works in collaboration with the Public Health Agency and the Health and Social Care Board, and for many years has established an evidence-based Nurse-led service for new entrants to Northern Ireland. The project offers an array of support and access to clinics that will assist new immigrants, asylum seekers, refugee children of the ages 0-16 years old with their health and well-being. Extern is a social justice organisation that seeks to transform the lives of people by promoting social justice across the island of Ireland. HERe NI

HERe Ni is a community group and a safe place for lesbian and Bisexual Womxn here in Northern Ireland. HERe Ni aims to create a community space where women can meet, organise, and interact in whatever manner they like. Refugee Women

Refugee Women empower refugee and asylum-seeking women to speak out, become leaders and advocate for change. Through English lessons, drama and other activities we support women to build their confidence and skills. Their network helps to combat the isolation faced by women seeking asylum and creates pathways for women to rebuild their lives with dignity.

Forward UK

FORWARD (Foundation of Women's Health Research and Development) is the African women-led women's rights organisation working to end violence against women and girls.

CHAYN

CHAYN is a global volunteer network addressing gender-based violence by creating intersectional survivor-led resources online. We started in 2013, and have since reached more than 300 000 people and 1.2 million views across the world.

Nacro SWITCH Project

A national charity supporting vulnerable women aged 16 and older. They work to build confidence, self-esteem and address issues such as social isolation, domestic violence, housing and drug and alcohol abuse. 

They have a team of outreach workers dedicated to delivering one-to-one work, group work, training and wellbeing workshops. The project also has a very successful mentoring programme, pairing trained volunteers with vulnerable women.

Commonweal Housing

Commonweal works with Praxis Community Projects to run a no recourse to public funds (NRPF) housing project in London. The project provides free bed spaces for single women with NRPF, cross subsidised by income from housing families to whom local authorities have a Section 17 responsibility.

Milk and Honey

Milk and Honey is an expressive safe space that allows young women and girls to flourish and take ownership of H.E.R (Healing, Empowerment and Resilience) through 1:1 sessions and creative group projects.

Hackney CVS

Hackney CVS is an important umbrella body committed to making Hackney a fairer place. They believe everyone should have the best start in life and the best opportunities to succeed regardless of their background, race, social class, gender, sexuality or disability. 

Asian Women's Resource Centre

The Asian Women's Resource Centre provide support services in a range of languages. Their service ensures cultural sensitivity, confidentiality and listening time in a safe, non-judgemental environment.

The Rowan Sexual Assault Referral Centre

The Rowans provide a number of different services for individuals who have been raped or sexually assaulted. The service is open to a range of users and had a 24-hour advice helpline. If you were assaulted in the past or recently the company offers a wider range of support for individuals and their specific needs.

The Outside Project

Crisis night shelter for the LGBTIQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer) community who feel endangered, who are homeless or 'hidden' homeless and feel they are on the outside of services due to historical and present prejudice in society and their homes.
