WomenMATTA is a Women's Centre in Manchester that provides intense, holistic support to women affected by the criminal justice system and to those at risk.

The Centre provides women with a safe and homely space in which to access gender-specialist support services. It is a 'one-stop-shop' offering group work, one-to-one and counselling supporting women around:

Domestic violence/sexual abuse
Mental health
Substance misuse and alcohol addiction
Debt or money issues
Parenting support
Housing and homelessness

Safety4Sisters works to support migrant women across the North West who have experienced gender-based violence and who have no recourse to public funds or state benefits.

This charity supports members of the local BME community by providing language support, advocacy, social support and activities, assistance to access primary care services and including advice and education services.

Promoting education, community space, immigration advice, FGM awareness and engagement for BME women.

This Manchester-based charity works to empower the disadvantaged population within the Black and Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, particularly refugees, asylum seekers and other immigrants from the new emerging communities in Greater Manchester. They work to promote social integration, equality, diversity and human rights of BAME families, with an emphasis on the mental health and wellbeing of women and young girls who have been victims of Gender-Based Violence.

Stoke-based free counselling services for survivors of rape from ages 4+

Part of the Leeds Crisi-led Survivors Service, Sisterhood BAME Women’s group runs on Monday every week between 12pm – 3pm at the BAME Health and Wellbeing Hub, Reginald Terrace. There are plans to expand and diversify their services beyond this group.

The Jyoti service is a specialist service for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic women and girls, which is run by Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic women. Jyoti offers a culturally sensitive approach to dealing with issues around rape & sexual violence. offer services in a range of languages and are able to access a confidential interpreting service. Womenzone Community Centre is a registered charity established in 2003 to address the isolation and lack of voice and visibility of South Asian women in the Bradford 3 area. With ESOL classes, Women's Health groups, employment support and other services, Womenzone identifies needs primarily of South Asian women for a women-only safe place, to prevent them from being socially excluded and assist their fuller integration into society

 

This Bradford-based charity helps to women, men and children who are survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence. They work with West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, Safer and Stronger Partnership Boards, and the Domestic and Sexual Violence Strategic Boards.

Derbyshire LGBT+ is Derbyshire’s only LGBT specific support service, we are here to support anyone who is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender or anyone who is having issues with their sexual identity or gender identity, this includes family and friends. 

Walsall Black Sisters Collective is a registered charity that was established in July 1986 by a group of young Black women. From this initial meeting they continued to meet regularly and out of this was formed the “Walsall Black Sisters Collective” as we know today.

BCA Support Services is a Registered Provider (RP) delivering 24 hour emergency housing with supported accommodation to female adults at risk of homelessness and domestic violence. 

Anawim exists to support women and their children, especially women vulnerable to exploitation including prostitution.

It seeks to provide wider positive choices to help them achieve their goals and reach their full potential as part of the wider community. 

At RSVP, we believe that everyone deserves a life free from sexual violence and abuse. We offer empathic services to support and inspire children and adults of all genders who have been subjected to sexual violence and abuse. 

First Light is a charity supporting people in Cornwall, Devon and Wiltshire who have experienced domestic violence and domestic abuse, from support through the court system to counselling and creating safe plans for individuals to rebuild their lives.

The Green House in Bristol has been providing therapy for people affected by sexual abuse for over 30 years. They provide therapy for men, women and children.

The Bridge is a Sexual Assault Referral Centre who offer medical care, emotional and psychological support, and practical help to anyone who has been raped or sexually assaulted across Bristol and Weston.

Kinergy is a specialist counselling agency offering support for survivors of sexual abuse and sexual violence in Bristol. Kinergy is inclusive to all genders, 16 years and above. The website features help guides, leaflets, apps and information on other support available.

SARSAS provide support to people who have experienced rape or any kind of sexual assault or abuse at any time in their lives through counselling, live chat and other specialist support. They are open to all; girls, boys, women, men, trans and non-binary individuals.

The Southmead Project provides free counselling and support for survivors of abuse and addiction in Bristol and surrounding areas.

They provide a range of domestic abuse support services to women and children, including safe houses, children’s services, dedicated Black and Ethnic Minority Services, resettlement and outreach services, and a crisis response service. Resolve West provides and promotes services which empower people to resolve conflicts and to repair harm.

BOSH provides an outreach service providing anything they reasonably can to make lives more comfortable. They also provide advocacy, advice, one to one support and help settling in to a new home and maintaining a tenancy.

Bristol Homeless Connect is a website which has information about how people can get help, find out how to help, or find out more information about rough sleeping in Bristol. They offer support on topics including healthcare, laundry, gambling support, work and training, drug/alcohol support, food and much more.

Bristol Against Violence and Abuse (BAVA) is a collection of people and organisations in Bristol working to end all types of violence and abuse. Their resources are available in a range of languages including Arabic, Somali, BSL, Chinese and more.

St Pauls Advice Centre offers specialist advice, information and casework services on welfare benefits, debt and money, employment, housing, immigration, discrimination, domestic violence and other community care issues. They offer independent, impartial, confidential, non-judgemental and free advice.

One25 are a Bristol-based charity that work with women facing multiple vulnerabilities.

Edinburgh rape crisis centre offers free and confidential emotional and practical support, information and advocacy to women, all members of the trans community, non-binary people and young people aged 12-18 in Edinburgh, East and Midlothian, who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. Based in Stockton-on-Tees, A Way Out is an outreach and prevention charity which aims to engage, empower and equip vulnerable and excluded women, families and young people.

They offer support for people with substance misuse problems, those involved with sex work, homeless or living on the streets, often engaged in offending or victims of abuse.
 

A registered charity based in Teesside offering free and confidential counselling and ISVA (independent sexual violence advisor) support to people who have been affected by rape or sexual abuse at any point in their life.

Regional multi-faceted charity offering help with domestic violence for men, women, children, with therapy programmes and a dedicated Young People Service. They also offer security measures and help with housing for refugees.

Route2 is an initiative offered by My Sister's Place that offers one-to-one help, education, advice and support to rehabilitate men who are behaving abusively towards family and want to change.

Specialist counselling and therapy services offered to women 16+ who have experienced domestic violence. They also have links to Sanctuary, which offers support to those feeling unsafe in their homes through extra security installation and measures.

Extern is a social justice organisation that seeks to transform the lives of people by promoting social justice across the island of Ireland. Some of its core values seeks ot provide anti-racism and anti discrimination, thereby offering up support and advice within the realm of housing, homelessness, migrants and refugees issues, mental health and drug use and much more. HERe Ni is a community group and a safe place for lesbian and Bisexual Womxn here in Northern Ireland. HERe Ni aims to create a community space where women can meet, organise, and interact in whatever manner they like. LBWP works with Black, Asian and visible minority ethnic women who have experienced domestic violence and abuse

A South Asian organisation that works to end violence against women and girls.

Commonweal works with Praxis Community Projects to run a no recourse to public funds (NRPF) housing project in London. The project provides free bed spaces for single women with NRPF, cross subsidised by income from housing families to whom local authorities have a Section 17 responsibility.

Southall Black Sisters provides an advocacy service for women affected by gender based violence

The Asian Women's Resource Centre provide support services in a range of languages. Their service ensures cultural sensitivity, confidentiality and listening time in a safe, non-judgemental environment.

The Rowans provide a number of different services for individuals who have been raped or sexually assaulted. The service is open to a range of users and had a 24-hour advice helpline. If you were assaulted in the past or recently the company offers a wider range of support for individuals and their specific needs.

Crisis night shelter for the LGBTIQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer) community who feel endangered, who are homeless or 'hidden' homeless and feel they are on the outside of services due to historical and present prejudice in society and their homes.

Bawso is an all Wales Organisation providing support for those affected or are at risk of domestic abuse and all forms of violence. Their services include:

Hemat Gryffe provides a range of services, including outreach support, culturally sensitive counselling, and support on immigration matters.

Shakti Women’s Aid helps ethnic minority women, children, and young people experiencing, or who have experienced, domestic abuse from a partner, ex-partner, and/ or other members of the household.

Working closely with the Scottish Government, Police Scotland, and NHS Scotland, they also provide training and consultancy.

P.H.O.E.B.E ethnic minority women and children to receive domestic abuse support and counselling services across Suffolk.

They offer specialist advice, information, casework, advocacy and support and counselling services.

Roshni Birmingham is a leading provider supporting ethnic minority communities through their journey to safety, confidence and independence to live free from violence, abuse and fear.

Panahghar provides free dedicated multi lingual support, advice and advocacy and access to safe refuge for survivors and their families of domestic abuse, sexual abuse or gendered abuse in Coventry and Leicester.

A survivor-led organisation with experience in the forms of violence that disproportionately affect ethnic minority women.

They welcome women from from any religion or no religion, and of any sexuality, including women who identify as lesbian, bisexual, transgender or intersex (LGBTQIA+). 

Anah Project provides support for women experiencing any form of abuse in various languages. They aim to educate women on their human rights, increase their confidence and self-esteem and regain their independence.

Humraaz Support Services provides confidential specialist support to Black and Minority Ethnic women who are experiencing Domestic Abuse and all forms of Harmful Traditional Practices. As well as a refuge, they also provide advocacy and support. Warning: website features images of women who have suffered from domestic violence.

 Rochdale Women Welfare Association is committed to protecting the individual rights and dignity of all individuals within the community.

A refuge for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. The service offers temporary accommodation for families, providing support, understanding and access to additional services when required.

They prioritise the needs of Black and Racial Minority (BRM) women and children but will take referrals from all sections of the community.

Saheli gives Asian women a chance to get away from violent domestic abuse situations by providing an environment which is safe, culturally familiar and which helps them come to decisions of their own about their next steps.

Information and advice is available to help them to make positive decisions for themselves and their children.

The Halo Project Charity is a project that will support victims of honour-based violence, forced marriages and FGM by providing appropriate advice and support to victims. 

Apna Ghar provides services for women from ethnic minority communities in South Tyneside.

These include courses e.g. ESOL, Conversation, Health & Social Care, Volunteering and activities e.g. lunch groups, advice sessions, leisure activities..

Based in Sunderland, African women voices, is founded on promoting African heritage, and aims to establish a network between African women by providing a range of activities and training. 

The Angelou Centre is a black-led women’s centre based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

They offer a range of holistic women only services for women across the North East region. As well as frontline support they also work at strategic and national levels ensuring the voices of women are represented and heard.

A community based initiative supporting African heritage women and girls, Sistah Space bridges the gap in domestic abuse services for grassroots and all other African heritage women and girls.

Their services include support for domestic and sexual abuse survivors, as well as mental health support, and support for those experiencing substance abuse.

London Black Women's Project is a specialist and dedicated organisation for ethnic minority women and girls.

There offer a range of support services to women and girls. 

The Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) is a human rights, feminist organisation run for Latin American women, by Latin American women. Among the many services offered are practical support, counselling, and English classes.

KMEWO is an organisation that works with women from Kurdish, Middle Eastern and North African backgrounds, supporting those fleeing civil war and gender based violence.

Kiran is a refuge service, able to provide safe shelter for up to 7 families at any one time.

Supported families are helped with claiming welfare benefits and legal advice where needed.

Jewish Women's Aid supports Jewish women and children affected by domestic abuse & sexual violence.

They also have resources to help individuals support someone they suspect is going through domestic abuse.

IKWRO’s mission is to protect Middle Eastern and Afghan women and girls who are at risk of  ‘honour’ based violence, forced marriage, child marriage, female genital mutilation and domestic violence.

They provide direct services for women and girls, including advocacy, training and counselling.

Imkaan is a UK-based, feminist organisation dedicated to addressing violence against Black and minoritised women and girls.

As well as research and training, they offer strategic advocacy, and consultancy services.

IMECE supports women from ethnic minority backgrounds, in particular supporting Turkish, Kurdish, and Cyproit Turkish women.

They work with all those who self-identify as women. Services include counselling, advice and information, and training.

FORWARD (Foundation for Women’s Health Research and Development) is an African women-led organisation working to end violence against women and girls.

They tackle abuse and discrimination through a range of services. 

Enfiled Muslim’s Women’s Aid provides relief for women and their dependent children who suffered or who are at risk of suffering domestic violence or abuse through the provision of accommodation, support and advice.

EACH was established in 1991 as Ethnic Alcohol Counselling in Hounslow to address this gap. It was the first Asian specific community-based alcohol service to be established in the UK and a pioneer in the provision of culturally sensitive alcohol services.

CIAC is a free information, advice and support to disadvantaged Chinese people living in the United Kingdom.

Among the services offered are support for navigating immigration, home and housing support, and legal assistance.

Services include information for survivors of domestic abuse, support in securing safe housing, advocacy and interpreters, access to counselling and legal advice.

They also provide support in multiple languages, including Bengali, Guajarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, and Farsi.

Offering a range of services, including specialist counselling, advice and advocacy, and professional training, the Ashiana Network helps ethnic minority women between the ages of 16 and 30 who are at risk of domestic violence and sexual violence.

Asha Projects are an organisation working to end violence against women and girls, specifically catering for the South Asian community.

As well as confidential support and advice, they can also offer secure, temporary accommodation.

Al-Hasaniya offers support via a range of projects, including services for emotional well-being, and domestic violence.

It serves the health, welfare, educational and cultural needs of Moroccan and Arabic-speaking women and their families in Kensington & Chelsea.
