Ashely Community Housing

People and Gardens

Through gardening and growing, People and Gardens in St Austell enables people with learning disabilities or emotional impairments to be able to develop as individuals, to learn work and social skills and to have equality of choice and opportunity in the workplace.

St Petrocs

Truro based St Petrocs works with homeless people in Cornwall to offer accommodation, support, advice, training and resettlement.

Intercom Trust

Intercom Trust is an LGBT+ charity working across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and the wider South West. They provide help and support, advocacy, counselling, training, information, support groups, conferences and consultancy.

Carefree Cornwall

Carefree works with young people aged 11-25 who are in and leaving care across Cornwall. They engage in positive social education activities, events and projects, as well as a personal advisor service for about half of Cornwall's care leavers.

Filwood Hope

Filwood Hope is a walk-in centre which provides the local community of Knowle West with advice and support on benefit, debt and housing. This service also provides counselling on a daily basis. They also host advisers from Age UK offering advice to those over 55.

1625 Independent People

1625 Independent People is a charity that supports young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the South West. They find secure homes, teach life-skills, offer advice, help access training and job opportunities.

Shire Advice Service

Shire Advice Service offer advice, information and advocacy covering welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment rights, consumer issues, family issues etc. They are fully accessible and based in North Bristol.

Bristol Outreach for the Homeless (BOSH)

BOSH provides an outreach service providing anything they reasonably can to make lives more comfortable. They also provide advocacy, advice, one to one support and help settling in to a new home and maintaining a tenancy.

Bristol Homeless Connect

Bristol Homeless Connect is a website which has information about how people can get help, find out how to help, or find out more information about rough sleeping in Bristol. They offer support on topics including healthcare, laundry, gambling support, work and training, drug/alcohol support, food and much more.

St Pauls Advice Centre

St Pauls Advice Centre offers specialist advice, information and casework services on welfare benefits, debt and money, employment, housing, immigration, discrimination, domestic violence and other community care issues. They offer independent, impartial, confidential, non-judgemental and free advice.

Bristol Mind

Bristol branch of the nationwide mental health organisation. Run emotional support helplines, virtual drop-ins, offer advocacy services and resources on how to care for your mental health during the pandemic.

Bristol and Avon Chinese Women's Group

The Bristol and Avon Chinese Women’s Group exists to support the health and social care needs of Chinese women and their families in Bristol and the surrounding area. They provide assistance, advice, representation and services, as well as facilities for recreation and leisure time.

Bristol Muslim Cultural Society

As a Muslim Cultural Society, their aim is to empower the Muslim community in Bristol and the surrounding area to further the economic (employment, enterprise, training) educational, recreational, cultural and social needs of the Muslim community.

Black South West Network

The Black South West Network (BSWN) build dynamic, independent and strong Black communities, businesses and organisations that are empowered to flourish while challenging systemic barriers and forging a true path. Their work covers enterprise and innovation, cultural inclusion, as well as research and knowledge. They run events, broker relationships and more.

Black Voices Cornwall

Challenging authorities, institutes and organisations across all sectors, as well as holding them to account, is a vital step towards achieving their Key Aims. Developing effective partnerships and reviving the Race Equalities Council are also crucial initiatives. They provide training and education, arts and culture, as well as support and signposting.
 

Bude Refugee Support Group

BRSG (Bude Refugee Support Group) arrange Community Sponsorship, support refugees to rebuild their lives and resettle through English teaching, training and employment support, childminding, driving theory and much more.

Cornwall Refugee Resource Network

The Cornwall Refugee Resettlement Network is a committed group who are passionate about Cornwall being a place of welcome, refuge and sanctuary. They offer practical support such as sponsorship, workshops, providing resources, campaigning and running conferences to communicate with the local community.
 

Anglo-Chinese Cultural Exchange

Anglo-Chinese Cultural Exchange provides A supplementary school, benefits for the elderly, translation support, health and wellbeing information, free immigration legal advice, seminars, workshops and certified volunteering opportunities for teenagers

Bedfordshire African Community Centre

Provides a range of services for African and other BME communities living in Luton and surrounding areas of Bedfordshire. Services include advice, information, advocacy, help with job search and CV preparation. Training courses and workshops including emergency first aid, health and safety, maths, ICT and English for young people aged 10-15 and ESOL.

Refugee Survival Trust

Inter Ethnic Forum (Mid East and Antrim)

Inter-Ethnic Forum is an organisation that aims to help ethnic minorities within the Mid & East Antrim Borough Council area.

The aim is to assist with the process of integration as this can often seem difficult and daunting to new comers, as well as promoting positive community cohesion the Inter-Ethnic Forum also platforms other cultures n the local community. 

Glenshane Community Development Limited

The Entrepreneurial Refugee Network (TERN). We enable refugees to thrive through the power of their own ideas. We do this through providing them with access to business support networks and business financing, designed to help accelerate them towards launching sustainable businesses.

Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL)

Set up in 2006 to reduce the poverty of local refugees and asylum-seekers, advance their education and raise awareness about rights and needs.

Services include advice in welfare benefits, housing, education, employment, health and immigration, a supplementary Saturday School for children aged 4-11 and a food bank for destitute asylum-seekers and refugees.

MindWise

Mindwise is a mental health charity that seeks to raise awareness, challenge the stigma, and campaign for changes to be made within the mental health sector.

Mindwise has an array of key services and offers advice, training, counseling and teaches workplaces to better understand and support good mental health practices.

Hackney CVS

Hackney CVS is an important umbrella body committed to making Hackney a fairer place. They believe everyone should have the best start in life and the best opportunities to succeed regardless of their background, race, social class, gender, sexuality or disability. 

Juvenis

Juvenis offers bespoke support and training enabling young people who are having difficulties at school, at home or in the community to turn around their lives and (re)engage with employment, education or training.

Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB): Northern Ireland

Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) understand that everyone’s individuals and unique experience of sight loss and therefore offers up help and support for blind and partially sighted people. Services are varied and extensive and this can be from practical and emotional support, campaigning for change, reading services etc.

A charity that promotes alternative and innovative ways of engaging and incorporating migrant and ethnic groups in processes of urban change in London.

JET (Newcastle)

JET provide support and free ESOL classes for people from ethnic backgrounds, refugees and asylum seekers. JET offers help searching for work, suitable training and work experience, as well as integrating into society and local communities.

The Other Box

The Other Box educate and empower people to work and live more inclusively through our training, consultancy & brand partnerships

They run a Facebook group that provides a supportive online community for people & parents of colour. 

They also run diversity and inclusion training and a jobs board. 

Start Up Britain

StartUp Britain is a campaign by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs. They offer inspiration, resources and guidance to help people start and grow their own business. They also provide online support which may be useful during this time. 

The Sharan Project

The Sharan Project aims to empower, educate and inspire women who want to learn more about the support and choices that are available to them.

They offer free impartial, confidential and culturally sensitive support, advice and information on key life skills including employment, education, financial, and legal.

EmployAbility provides resources, support and opportunities for disabled and dyslexic students and graduates.

The Black Young Professionals Network connects black professionals to job opportunities, events, and each other.
