GenderJam NI has an array of advice and services such as: housing, education, healthcare and other issues that affect the trans community in the region. 

Wah Hep Chinese Community Association

Wah Hep which means “Chinese self-help", is a community development association that represents and provides services for the Chinese community in Armagh county. The organisation 'Wah Hep' has a drop in centre which provides key information, English classes, After School clubs, Chinese language and library, a 50+ group and more.

Young at Art

Young at Art is one of Northern Ireland's leading children's arts not-for-profit companies and it is also home to the prestigious Belfast  Their ethos is that 'every child should have the right to access exciting and original creative experiences, regardless of who they are or where they come from. They offer projects and programmes with that aim to encourage young children to express themselves freely. 

The Winch

The Winch is a programme for young people in Camden and their families to access support to challenge injustice which affects them and their communities. They offer youth clubs, projects, holiday programmes, celebrations, creative spaces, after-school clubs and more.

Southall Black Sisters

Southall Black Sisters provides an advocacy service for women affected by gender based violence. They offer specialist advice, information, casework, advocacy, counselling and self-help support services in several community languages, especially South Asian languages. Whilst their focus is on the needs of black and minority women, we will not turn any woman away who needs emergency help.

The Rowan Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC)

The Rowan is the regional Sexual Assault Referral Centre for Northern Ireland, providing a number of different services for individuals who have been raped or sexually assaulted. The service is open to a range of users and had a 24-hour advice helpline on 0800 389 4424. If you were assaulted in the past or recently the company offers a wider range of support for individuals and their specific needs.

Northern Health and Social Care Trust

The Trust is accountable for the distribution of safe and effective health and social care services to a population of approximately 470,000, the single largest resident population in Northern Ireland. The Trust also provides services to Rathlin, the only inhabited island off the coast of Northern Ireland.

Inter Ethnic Forum (Mid East and Antrim)

Inter-Ethnic Forum is an organisation that aims to help ethnic minorities within the Mid & East Antrim Borough Council area. The aim is to assist with the process of integration as this can often seem difficult and daunting to new comers, as well as promoting positive community cohesion the Inter-Ethnic Forum also platforms other cultures n the local community.

Flock Together

A support club combatting the under-representation of People of Colour in birdwatching by organising birdwatching walks and events. The community includes experienced birders and enthusiastic first timers. Flock Together began in London but chapters have already opened in Toronto and New York, and they are open to new chapters in the UK.

The 4Front Project

The 4Front Project is a youth-led organisation supporting young people of colour with experiences of violence and/or in contact with the criminal justice system to fight for justice, peace and freedom.

Outdoor Resource Hub

Outdoor Resource Hub offers resources and support for participants and leaders in an attempt to make the outdoors accessible for all and has a great collective list of outdoor and adventure sport groups for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups.

Time Outdoors

Time Outdoors has a website with outdoors events listings and a newsletter for UK-wide things to do, places to go and clubs to join plus advice on sports.

Learning Through Landscapes

UK charity dedicated to making lives better through connection with nature. Working with educators, parents and carers, designers and funders to encourage and inspire outdoor learning and play. They have free outdoor learning online support groups during COVID-19, one for families and one for educators and teachers.

Rethink Mental Illness

Rethink are one of the largest charities providing care and support for those living with mental health conditions. They have set up an online hub to provide practical support and information that is useful for people living with, or supporting people with mental illness. They have over 200 mental health services and over 140 local peer support groups.

Sacro

Sacro is a Scottish community justice organisation which works to create safer and more cohesive communities across Scotland. Sacro provides a wide range of services spanning all aspects of the community justice continuum. These range from conflict resolution to prevent disputes escalating, to supporting prisoners on release.

Brittle Bone Society

The Brittle Bone Society is the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI). They offer general, financial, grant, NHS and information support for either adults or children.

GYROS

Front Line Therapy

Sisters For Change

Sisters For Change is an international non-governmental organisation that works to combat violence against women and girls through legal empowerment programmes, legislative reform, technical assistance initiatives and legal advocacy. 

MyUmbrella LGBT+

MyUmbrella LGBT+ is a volunteer led project of Reading Pride to raise awareness of the lesser known identities across the sexuality, gender, romantic and fetish spectrum's collectively known as LGBT+.

Filwood Hope

Filwood Hope is a walk-in centre which provides the local community of Knowle West with advice and support on benefit, debt and housing. This service also provides counselling on a daily basis. They also host advisers from Age UK offering advice to those over 55.

Bristol Homeless Connect

Bristol Homeless Connect is a website which has information about how people can get help, find out how to help, or find out more information about rough sleeping in Bristol. They offer support on topics including healthcare, laundry, gambling support, work and training, drug/alcohol support, food and much more.

St Pauls Advice Centre

St Pauls Advice Centre offers specialist advice, information and casework services on welfare benefits, debt and money, employment, housing, immigration, discrimination, domestic violence and other community care issues. They offer independent, impartial, confidential, non-judgemental and free advice.

Dorset Race Equality Council

The Dorset REC inform and educate regarding race and ethnic relations including raising awareness, challenging prejudice, informing minority ethnic individuals of their rights, and work with partner organisations to influence policy and combat racial discrimination and racial violence.

South Asian Society Devon and Cornwall

The main aim of this society is to create a cultural, social and mutual support network for Devon and Cornwall’s increasingly large South Asian community. SAaS has a wide membership base of people who are drawn from countries surrounding the Indian sub-continent or are part of the Asian Diaspora. Good Finance

Good Finance is a collaborative project to help improve access to information on social investment for charities and social enterprises. Feeding Britain

Feeding Britain run a network of emergency food programmes across the UK to protect children and their families from hunger, including school holiday programmes, community food centres, fuel banks and advice and advocacy. Hot meals and food packages are being made available, through a combination of home deliveries and collection points.

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is a worldwide evangelical Christian church. They provide a range of outreach support services for youth and children, families, older people, those experiencing homelessness and more. You can find your nearest Salvation Army here.

Trussell Trust

The Trussell Trust provides emergency food and support. They support a nationwide network of food banks to work with people locked in poverty. If you cannot afford food, they can direct you to a local foodbank and emergency food. If you can afford food but are unable to get it, they can point you to your local council or Citizens Advice.

National Debtline

The National Debtline (0808 808 4000) is a national charity giving free and independent over the phone and online, as well as offering debt advice factsheets, budgeting tools and more. Go to the Coronavirus hub for the latest information and advice on the help available on: paying bills, managing debt, paying your mortgage / rent.

The Money Advice Service

The Money Advice Service offers free and impartial money advice, set up by government, covering debt and borrowing, homes and mortgages, budgeting and saving, work and benefits, pensions and retirement, family and care, cars and travel and insurance.
