Nottingham Arimathea Trust is a small housing charity with a clear mission to support destitute asylum seekers, newly recognised refugees and modern slavery/trafficking victims. 

Juno Women's Aid

Zola is a specialist BAME refuge. This means there are specialist staff members who can support women’s language and cultural needs. The team consists of four refuge support workers, one team leader, and a children’s worker. 

Al Hurraya

Al-Hurraya was founded in 2014 by Asad Fazil after he recognised that there was an emerging need of a service which works directly with minority communities.

He wanted to offer services where he could use his specialism, empower people and engage with them.

Himmah

Himmah is a grass roots community-based initiative tackle poverty, mental wellbeing, racism and social exclusion. We do this through a combination of service provision, campaigning work, arts and education work and collaboration with individuals, communities and organisations.

The Centre exists to promote mutual understanding between people of different faiths/beliefs and none and to build respect between people as fellow human beings across cultures. The Centre is a shared space where people are invited to speak freely and fearlessly.

Tuntum Housing

Tuntum is a BME led Nottingham based housing association. They offer culturally sensitive support services and are BME led.

Leicester Council Of Faiths

Leicester Council of Faiths promotes trust, understanding and co-operation among the city’s faith communities, speaks up for their viewpoint on significant issues, and provides reliable information to civic authorities, service providers, educational institutions and local media. 

Inter Faith Forum for Leicestershire

The Inter Faith Forum for Leicestershire was developed in July 2008 as a network to promote greater understanding and awareness of religion, faith and belief. It brings together representatives from faith communities, along with other interested individuals.

Nottingham Chameleons

Chameleons is a social and support group, so we’re here for each other and to have some fun too. We don’t sit in a circle and confess our sins. Instead, tables and chairs are put out, and people pull up a seat and chat with friends.

CHAYN

CHAYN is a global volunteer network addressing gender-based violence by creating intersectional survivor-led resources online. We started in 2013, and have since reached more than 300 000 people and 1.2 million views across the world.

The No Accommodation Network (NACCOM)

NACCOM represents a network of organisations seeking to prevent destitution amongst migrants with no recourse to public funds. Member organisations provide accommodation and support to asylum seekers, refugees and other vulnerable migrants, and NACCOM provide resources and support for our members.

Doctors of the World

Doctors of the World's vision is a world where everyone can see a doctor when they need to. They provide free healthcare, advice and practical support to people who struggle to access NHS services, while working to tackle the barriers to healthcare they face. They believe everyone has the right to healthcare, regardless of their immigration status.

Just For Kids Law

 

Just For Kids Law exists to help children and young people overcome all the difficulties they face, from problems at school and issues with immigration status to trouble with the police. They support young people through youth advocacy, legal support and youth projects

Article 39

 

Article 39 is a small, independent charity which fights for the rights of children living in state and privately-run institutions (children’s homes, boarding and residential schools, mental health inpatient units, prisons and immigration detention) in England.

INQUEST

INQUEST is the only charity providing expertise on state related deaths and their investigation to bereaved people, lawyers, advice and support agencies, the media and parliamentarians. Their specialist casework includes deaths in police and prison custody, immigration detention, mental health settings and deaths involving multi-agency failings or where wider issues of state and corporate accountability are in question.

QTPoC Mental Health

QTPoC Mental Health is a facebook group that exists to provide greater access to community healing. They host meditations for queer & trans people of colour and publish original art and writing on www.restforresistance.com.

POC in Campaigns

A facebook group for People of Colour working (or aspiring to work) in campaigns to share opportunities, concerns and questions.

POC in Nature

A Black-led community for People of Colour to explore the healing power of nature, environmental justice & land-honouring ancestral traditions.

Sarbat LGBT Sikhs

Sarbat is a volunteer led group addressing LGBT issues from a Sikh perspective. They organise regular events to encourage discussions, tackle homophobia/biphobia/transphobia and build bridges within and beyond their communities.

Land in Our Names (LION)

An ecosystem builder centring the experience of Black people and People of Colour through an anti-capitalist, reparative justice framework. LION hold workshops and events to strategise and network-build while consistently documenting their activities through writing, photography and video.
