El (they/them) brings over five years of strategic expertise in embedding lived experience into organisational practices across healthcare, mental health, and cancer support services. Currently at Macmillan Cancer Support, they lead the development and implementation of a participation strategy that shapes the organisation’s 5-year plan and political campaigns.
El’s work includes managing large-scale participatory research programmes influencing national cancer policies and creating internal environments that enable participation, such as Macmillan’s flagship participation payment policy.
Previously at NHS England, El partnered with lived experience experts to transform participation approaches in children and young people’s mental health services. Their passion for co-production is rooted in their own lived experience, including their role as Chair of NHS England’s LGBT+ Network, where they amplified voices and drove change for over 1,000 LGBT+ staff members.
