Our Team

Across our team and key stakeholders, 95% of those who work with us have direct lived experience of marginalisation, and understand the the issues we’re tackling.

We have first hand knowledge of the impact of systemic racism on our communities, the immigrant and refugee experience, navigating gender and sexuality, language barriers, cultural, economic exclusion, social exclusion and racism.

Our goal is to create social impact by equipping people and communities with knowledge, information and resources. Given our lived experiences, we live and breathe this goal every day.

Ishita Ranjan: Founding Director

Spark and Co. was founded as a grassroot movement by Ishita (she/her) in 2017/8.

In response to the Covid-19 crisis, Ishita pivoted the organisation, registering it as a Community Interest Company to respond to the emerging and disproportionate challenges faced by those experiencing marginalisation.

Zoe (they/them) has developed the Spark & Co. and Spark Insights inclusive brand and supported the organisation with qualitative research and community facilitation for our clients such as Mind and Macmillan.

They oversee content at Spark & Co., having created extensive resources with the aim of empowering people experiencing marginalisation.
